Service Engineer – Software

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team of Service Engineers based in Aberdeen, UK.

The successful candidate will  provide installation, commissioning, service, fault-finding, repair and upgrade support to HMH customers onshore, offshore and overseas
 
More specific responsibilities include:

• Prepare fully for each assignment, to ensure high quality,  safe and efficient work at all times
• Abiding by safe systems of work, risk assessments and participating in tool box talks and observation reporting
• ensure documentation has been prepared and necessary drawings collated prior to mobilisation;
• Carry out site surveys in preparation for equipment installation and/or upgrade
• Maintain accurate and detailed technical reports pertaining to particular assignment/task
• Attend de-brief on conclusion of assignment ensuring all pertinent information is fed back to Project Manager and/or Service Account Manager
• Provide advice and guidance to customers on correct maintenance and operation of HMH products
• Be able to appraise customers of current product lines, upgrades, improvements and service available from HMH
• Be prepared to travel to customer sites onshore, offshore and overseas as required
• Provide support within HMH offices or workshops as and when required
• Share product knowledge and experience with other employees
• Subscribe to, and comply with, HMH HSE guidelines
• Ensure HMH Just Rules are adhered to as a minimum standard of working, even on Customer sites
• Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures relevant to job role
• Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times

Our ideal candidate will:
Be HNC qualified (or equivalent) in relevant software/electrical engineering discipline;
Have a working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens S7/TIA Portal software preferred);
Have the ability to read and understand loop and inter connector drawings;
Hold a CompEx certificate (or previously held);
Have an understanding of electro-hydraulic systems for mechanical handling;
Have excellent team working skills with ability to work effectively within different cultures
