Job Title: Lead Inventory Cost Analyst

Role Summary:
This position leads the analysis of SDS’s global inventory and supply chain related activities. Responsible for the review and analysis of average inventory cost trends, standard cost, and obsolescence accounting. Expertise within accounting procedures comprising of different approaches, methodologies, techniques, and processes. Leads supply chain and controllership activities related to inventory and fixed assets at a global level.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with operational counterparts to ensure clear and accurate reporting of SDS global inventory and fixed assets
  • Develops a clear understanding of inventory accounting, including but not limited to: obsolescence, standard cost, average cost, LCM and FIFO.
  • Drives operational rigor by analyzing supply chain costing trends and identifying for management labor and or material variances vs target.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, including physical inventory, account reconciliation approvals, fixed asset tracking and proper compliance with internal and external audits.
  • Leads team in reviewing and aligning HMH policies related to inventory and fixed assets.
  • Responsible for Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) financial reporting and analysis. Collaborates with quality and supply chain to identify trends and ensure proper financial reporting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance / accounting roles and responsibilities.
